Staffing agency Randstad calls for European labour market reform

Staffing agency Randstad remains concerned about developments in Europe, chief executive Ben Noteboom said in a briefing to accompany the group’s third quarter figures.

‘In France, business confidence is eroding fast,’ Noteboom said. ‘Many clients in Europe feel the effects of economic uncertainty. There is an urgent need to reform European labour markets.’
Randstad booked net profit of nearly €69m in the third quarter, down 13% on a year ago. The group’s activities in North America booked sales growth of 4%, while in Europe they fell 7%.
