Anouk to represent Holland at Eurovision Song Contest

Anouk, one of the country’s most popular vocalists, will represent the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden in 2013.

The rock singer confirmed her decision to take part on Wednesday on her Facebook page.
In July, Anouk said she had a ‘killer song’ for the contest, but tv company Tros, which broadcasts the event, was not enthusiastic. It wanted the usual programme in which the Dutch entry would be chosen by public vote.
Talks between the two have now resulted in the decision to ditch the talent contest, RTL news reported.
The Netherlands has failed to qualify for the finals of the Eurovision song contest for eight years in succession.
