AkzoNobel chief executive off work with ‘temporary fatigue’

The new chief executive of specialty paints group AkzoNobel is taking a short period of leave because of ‘temporary fatigue’, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Ton Büchner is taking leave based on medical advice and ‘is expected to return to work in the first half of October,’ the company said. He took over from Hans Wijers in April.
AkzoNobel publishes its third quarter figures on October 18.
