Olympics: Surfer assured of gold with two more races to go

Dorian van Rijsselberghe is assured of the gold medal in the surfing with two more races to be sailed during the Olympic regatta in Weymouth.

The Dutchman has won six of the nine races so far in the RS-X class and has a 23 point advantage on his closest rivals, Nick Dempsey of Britain and Toni Wilhelm of Germany.
There is only a maximum 18 points available in the final races which will be held on Tuesday.
Van Rijsselberghe’s performance is a unique achievement at the Olympic Games and will give the Netherlands its fourth gold medal at these games when it is hung around his neck on Tuesday.
The Netherlands is currently 12th in the medal table, with three gold, one silver and four bronze.
