TNS Nipo poll gives Socialists a four-seat lead

Wednesday 18 July 2012

The latest TNS Nipo opinion poll shows the Socialist Party is stretching its lead over the VVD Liberals, while Labour continues to trail in third place.

The poll says Emile Roemer's SP would take 36 seats if there was a general election tomorrow, more than double its current total. The ruling VVD is up one seat on last week's poll at 32.

Labour (PvdA) is down one seat on 19 while Geert Wilders' anti-Islam PVV is also down one at 17.

There are great variations between the different opinion polls, however. Sunday's Maurice de Hond poll put the VVD and SP neck and neck on 31 seats with the PvdA and PVV both on 19.
