New polls show gains for the VVD

New polls by Maurice de Hond and Ipsos Synovate show gains of three seats for the right-wing Liberal VVD and prime minister Mark Rutte, taking the party’s total to 29 and 35 respectively.

The Synovate poll, published on Saturday, puts the Socialists on 29 seats, one up on two weeks ago and 14 more than the party currently has in parliament. In third place is Labour, up two seats on 25.
Geert Wilders’ anti-immigration PVV is on target to take 18 seats, down two on the previous poll.
The research for the poll was carried out between Wednesday and Friday afternoon and does not take into account the impact of the VVD’s manifesto or the latest upheaval in the PVV ranks.
De Hond
Sunday’s De Hond poll puts the Socialists on 31 seats, one down on a week ago but still the biggest party.
De Hond also shows a drop of three seats for the PVV, putting the party on 20 seats. Labour is one seat behind on 19.
