Organic food consumption rises
Dutch consumers spent €881m on organic food last year, a 17% increase on 2010, according to economic affairs ministry figures.
Organic food company association Bionex said this is the biggest leap in organic food sales ever. Eggs and dairy products led the rise.
Some 50% of organic food is now bought in supermarkets rather than specialist shops.
