Oranje’s squad to be named on Saturday, ahead of Bulgaria friendly

Dutch national football coach Bert van Marwijk will name his 23-man squad for the European Cup on Saturday, head of the friendly against Bulgaria in Amsterdam.

Van Marwijk told reporters on Friday he already knew which four players would not make the grade. ‘It is a well-considered choice,’ he said. ‘We have been watching the players this season and kept a close eye on them at work here as well.’
The Dutch squad has been training in Switzerland for the past few days. ‘It has gone well,’ Van Marwijk said.
The Netherlands kicks off its European Cup campaign against Denmark on June 9, followed by Germany (June 13) and Portugal (June 17). Two years ago, Oranje reached the final of the World Cup in South Africa.
