Tax officials will this year pay special attention to information about salaries on this year’s tax returns, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

Every year, the department picks one aspect of the tax form for particular attention. Tests have shown people often make simple mistakes in filling in their salaries, the paper said.
Tax returns can be submitted between now and April1.
In addition, the tax office is continuing the process of automating tax returns, the paper says. Last year, some four million people were sent a tax paper which had already been partly filled in by computer.
In addition to wage and personal details, house values and dividend tax will also be automatically included on some returns this year.
