Addiction guru to remain in custody until verdict announcement

Keith Bakker, the addiction guru accused of sexual abuse, will be held in custody until the verdict in his case is announced on April 20, the Amsterdam court said on Tuesday.

His lawyer had asked the Amsterdam court to free him in the meantime as he has been in custody since April 2011 and that is long enough, according to Trouw.
Earlier, the public prosecution department said Bakker should be jailed for seven years for sexually abusing a number of his clients, including two 15-year-olds.
After first denying the charges, Bakker has since admitted some of them.
