Utrecht province to press ahead with deer and boar cull

Wild boar and fallow deer which make their way to Utrecht province can be shot, while a maximum 200 red deer will be allowed to settle in the region, the provincial council has agreed.

Deer are a danger to traffic and the boar create too much damage to farmland to be allowed to settle in densely-populated provinces, the council says.
The two male boar and 50 fallow deer already living in rural parts of the province will be allowed to stay, the Telegraaf reported.
