Steve McClaren signs for 2.5 years with FC Twente

Former England national coach Steve McClaren has signed a 2.5 year contract with FC Twente, returning to the side he took to its first ever premier league title in 2010, local paper TC Tubantia reports.

McClaren left Twente in 2010. His replacement Michel Preud’homme left after one season and the Enschede-based club has now sacked Co Adriaanse, brought in amid much fanfare at the beginning of this season.
McClaren is currently out of a job, since leaving Nottingham Forest in November following disappointing results.
FC Twente is currently third in the premier division and just five points behind leader AZ of Alkmaar. The club is also through to the knock-out rounds of the Europa League.
