More mergers but for less money

Dutch companies were involved in more mergers and acquisitions last year than in 2010 but the value of the deals is down, according to website OverFusies.nl.

In total, the website recorded 532 deals. The average price per takeover or merger was €49m, compared with €62m the previous year.
There was little change in the proportion of foreign firms buying Dutch firms or Dutch firms involved in cross-border mergers.
