Young people worst at paying health insurance premium

Around 50,000 young people aged between 18 and 25 have not paid their health insurance premium for six months, figures released by the health insurance council CVZ show.

In total, 300,000 people have not paid their premiums but young people are the largest group, accounting for 17%.
Since autumn 2009 the money owing has been taken off salaries or benefits. Non-payers without a job or benefit are chased up by the central judicial collection agency.
