Iranian claiming to be Diginotar hacker says he acted alone

A man claiming to be the hacker who broke into internet security specialist Diginotar has told Nos television he acted alone and said he supports the Iranian government if it used information he passed on to spy on dissidents.

The man, who calls himself Sun Ich and claims to be a 21-year-old student, was tracked down by a reporter for current affairs show Nieuwsuur.
While the Nos said it cannot be certain he is the hacker, the man has placed evidence online which links him to the hack.

In the interview, Sun Ich praises the Iranian leadership but says he does not work for anyone. He said he had ‘all the information, data banks, source codes and files’ belonging to Diginotar ‘in which customer details, including those of the government, were recorded’.
‘But I won’t do anything with them,’ he is quoted as saying.
Asked why he targeted the Dutch firm, the man said first that Diginotar was top of a list of companies supplying certificates to software maker Mozilla. Later he said it was revenge for the fall of Srebrenica. He also said the Netherlands was singled out because of all the ‘Islam-bashing’.
Nos says the confused replies appear to indicate the man learned more about the Netherlands as time went on and so developed a political message.
