Apple to ban sales of Galaxy in the Netherlands

Computer giant Apple wants to ban the sale of all smart phones and tablets in the Samsung Galaxy series in the Netherlands, technology website Webwereld reports. The website says it has seen documents to this effect from the court in The Hague.

Apple and Samsung are involved in a patent dispute and Apple already has a temporary injunction on import of the Galaxy 10.1 in the European Union, with the exception of the Netherlands.
Any new ban would go much further, says Webwereld, taking in all smart phones and tablets that break their patent, including the Gio and the Nexus. It would also apply not just to import, but also to export, distribution and sales.
Apple accuses Samsung of copying the look and feel of the iPad with the Galaxy pad and breaking ten patents, including the technology used in the touch screen.
For its part, Samsung has begun procedures to have the court declare invalid Apple’s patents and models. There are at least ten different cases before The Hague court, says Webwereld.
