Sharp rise in Schiphol airport passengers
The number of passengers using Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport reached 23 million in the first six months of this year, a 12.7% rise on the 2010 first half.
The number of take-offs and landings was up 10.4% at 201,000 while freight shipments were up 5% at 753,000 tonnes.
Schiphol said the increase in passenger numbers is almost entirely due to European traffic.
