PVV suspends party worker for ‘burka scum’ video

The anti-Islam party PVV has suspended a party worker who filmed women in the seaside resort of Scheveningen wearing burkas and described them as ‘scum’.

Sam van Rooy placed the film on the internet, accompanied by text in which he said his peace was being disturbed by the women who were ‘imported backwardness from an Islamic sandpit’.
The video has since been removed from You Tube and the PVV has suspended Van Rooy, saying he had gone too far.
‘It is a pity these women wear a burka and we want to see a ban, but these women are not scum. We deeply regret this,’ a spokeswoman told the Telegraaf.
