John de Mol swaps RTL Nederland for Radio 538

Broadcast magnate John de Mol is swapping his 26% stake in RTL Nederland for pop music station Radio 538, which is owned by the RTL group.

De Mol has also bought Radio 10 Gold and dance music station Slam FM from the RTL group, through his Talpa investment house.
Talpa was ordered to divest the RTL stake by the competition authority NMa earlier this year. The ruling followed Talpa’s joint takeover of television company SBS Nederland together with Finnish group Sanoma.
