Roosendaal football club bankrupt

Roosendaal football club has applied to be declared bankrupt after failing to get enough guarantees to shore up its finances.


The first division club, which narrrowly avoided relegation to the amateur leagues this season, has debts of €5.2m, including a €3.5m mortgage on its stadium.
In February, the Dutch football association said 16 of the country’s 36 professional sides were in financial trouble. Last season, Haarlem and Veendam, both first division clubs, went bankrupt.
