Philips investigates corruption in Mexico

Electronics giant Philips’ investigation into corruption in the medical equipment market in Poland has been extended to its healthcare division in Mexico, reports the Eindhovens Dagblad based on documents it has received.

The case could lead to a revision of financial results for 2008 and 2009, says the paper.
Last week the Financieele Dagblad reported that staff at Philips Poland are suspected of bribery in connection with sale of healthcare equipment.
Philips has not commented on the new accusations but director Harry Hendriks says in an open letter on the Philips website that Philips recognises the importance of ethical business practices.
