Ministers have no plans to increase health insurance own risk

The cabinet does not plan to increase the compulsory own risk element in healthcare insurance to help cut the health spending deficit, news agency ANP reports.

Visits to the family doctor will also remain outside the own risk system, ministers said.
The health ministry budget overspend is set to reach over €2bn this year and talks are currently under way between the minority government and alliance partner PVV on where cuts should be made.
