Social housing rents to rise 1.3%

Social housing rents will rise by a maximum 1.3% in July, in line with inflation, home affairs minister Piet Hein Donner said on Tuesday.

But plans to put up the rent of high earners in rent-controlled housing by an extra 5% will be delayed until next July, as earlier reported.
This is because landlords will have to be able to check how much their tenants earn, and that process has not been fully worked out, the ministry said.
