‘NAC football club on verge of bankruptcy’

Officials from Breda football club NAC are meeting 17 investors on Friday in an effort to head off bankruptcy, according to local paper BN/De Stem.

If no new financing is found, the 99-year-old premier division club will go bankrupt, the paper said.
NAC has a budget of €14m but is €7m in debt.
The paper says the company has no cash, suppliers have not been paid for months, the football association is investigating potential fraud and the council has not been paid for the stadium hire for months.
Interim director Bas van Bavel said in January the club was in acute financial difficulties.
