Twente defender Douglas suspended for six matches

The football association has suspended FC Twente defender Douglas for six matches following Sunday’s crucial match against AZ of Alkmaar at the weekend.

The player, known simply as Douglas, was given a red card for throwing a mock punch at an AZ player. He then pushed the referee Ruud Bossen.
‘Emotions are part of the game, but it’s completely unacceptable that this has happened to a club like Twente,’ Twente president Joop Munsterman said on the club website.
