Car park fees have risen by up to 20%

Parking fees at city centre car parks all over the country are going up by as much as 20%, according to research by retail organisation Detailhandel Nederland.

Two out of three car parks have increased their fees with increases most likely in Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, Arnhem and Dordrecht. For example, the underground car park next to Amsterdam’s town hall now charges €5 per hour, up from €4 per hour in 2010.
Some 60% of local authorities have also increased the charges for street parking.
