Inflation hits 21-month high at 1.9%

The annual inflation rate hit 1.9% in December, it’s highest level since March 2009, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.

In November, the annual inflation rate was 1.6%. Petrol, phone costs and clothing helped push the inflation rate higher.
Over 2010 as a whole, the inflation rate averaged 1.3%, barely unchanged on the 2009 figure of 1.2%.
