Three Dutch locations on US national security list

Three places in the Netherlands appear on a list of US locations considered to be ‘essential for national security’ according to documents released by Wikileaks.

The first location is the oo Beverwijk, the end destination for an undersea telecommunications cable between the US and the Netherlands, Germany and Britain.
Second is the seaside town of Katwijk where another undersea communications cable meets mainland Europe.
Third on the list is the port of Rotterdam, which is one of the biggest ports in the world. No details about the Rotterdam interests are given.
The US State Department asked US missions abroad to list installations whose loss could critically affect US national security in February 2009.
