VVD MPs say the management and supervisory boards of the state owned railway companies should resign because of the chaotic services so far this winter.

MP Charlie Aptroot, who has previously hinted that NS and ProRail bosses should go, says in the Telegraaf transport minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen should now intervene.
‘Time after time they promise better services but every time we are let down,’ Aptroot said. ‘The tax payer puts €2bn a year into the railways and we’ve seen what they do with it. Nothing.’

Instead, people with experience of running industries should take over, Aptroot told the paper.
According to the Volkskrant, opposition MPs have called for a public hearing into the problems.
On Thursday it emerged most of the new Sprinter trains cannot cope with wintry weather because of problems with their electrics.
Last winter, services were paralysed because of frozen points.
