Five of 12 terror suspects arrested on Friday are released

Five of the 12 Somalis arrested on Friday evening on terrorism charges have been released, the public prosecution department said on Sunday evening.


Two of the five have been released and the other three handed over to the immigration authorities.
Seven men remain in custody and the public prosecution department will decide on Monday if they are to appear in court
The 12 were picked up on Friday following a tip from the AIVD security service. They were said to be poised to launch a terrorist attack in the Netherlands on an unknown target.
The arrests were made by the elite police and army combined anti-terror unit DSI.
