Energy firm Delta to sell solar panel unit

Energy firm Delta is selling its solar power subsidiary Solland Solar, and has written €250m off on the project this year, the Financieele Dagblad reports.

Delta took a 90% stake in Solland in 2007. The rest of the shares are owned by the management.
The company said it would not be responsible to invest further in the company, given that solar panel prices have collapsed as big Asian makers increase their production capacity.
In October, the Volkskrant said energy company Nuon is to sell or close down its solar panel unit in Arnhem as part of a cost-cutting measure by parent group Vattenfall.
