‘Aruban jaw bone is from a young woman’

The lower jaw bone found on a beach on the Caribbean island of Aruba is that of a young woman, according to US media reports.

Forensic scientists at the NFI forensic institute in The Hague are investigating whether the bone found is that of missing US teenager Natalee Holloway.
US papers say Holloway’s father has been told by Aruban officials the jaw is that of a young woman.
The bone was found near the Phoenix hotel on the Caribbean island, close to one of the locations indicated by murder suspect Joran van der Sloot.
He is currently in jail in Peru on other murder charges. Holloway disappeared on the holiday island in 2005. Van der Sloot, who was 17 at the time, was the last person seen with her and has made confessions about her death several times.
