Young Christian Democrats say party is ‘suffocating’ and ‘drips cynicism’

The Christian Democratic party is self-satisfied with a ´suffocating consensus culture´ in which politicians are chosen on the basis of their sex, belief and origin, according to a damning report on the CDA by its youth division.

The young CDA report says the party´s election campaigns are too much based on opinion polls and strategies and not enough on the contents so that ´the cynicism drips off them´.
The report is the first to look into the CDA´s disastrous election performance in June. The party, traditionally the biggest in parliament, saw its vote almost halve to just 21 seats.
The report also criticises the party´s over-emphasis on the economy, such as the forcing through of market forces into healthcare.
The CDA board has set up its own commission to look at the party´s performance.
