Dutchman jailed in the US on terror charges to be freed

A Dutchman sentenced to 25 years in jail in the US for terrorism offences is to be set free, the Telegraaf reports on Wednesday.

The Netherlands only agreed to deport Wesam al-Delaema to face charges on the condition he be allowed to serve out his sentence in the Netherlands.
Judges in Rotterdam on Wednesday converted the US sentence into an eight-year jail term. Given the time he was held in jail before his trial, Al-Delaema is now eligible for release, the paper says.
Al-Delaema was found guilty of conspiring to plant roadside bombs in Iraq. He had videotaped himself and others showing off roadside bombs they said they would use to kill Americans.
