Cabinet negotiations: agreement reached on more police

The three parties in talks on forming a new right-wing government have agreed plans to boost police numbers by 3,000 and reduce the number of regional forces from 24 to 10, the Telegraaf reports on Friday.

They also plan to limit leave for people being treated in psychiatric prisons and introduce minimum sentences for serious crimes.
Although the plans have been agreed in principle, the fine details and the financing still need to be worked out, the paper says.
