Wellink most powerful Dutchman in finance

Central bank president Nout Wellink is the highest ranked Dutch national in the annual Financial News ranking of the most influential people in finance.

Wellink’s placement is due to his role as chairman of the influential Basel Committee, the Volkskrant says.
Alpinvest partner Wim Borgdorff is 37th and Fons Lute of the health service pension fund is 49th.
Top of the ranking is Deutsche Bank’s head of corporate and investment banking Anshu Jain.
Wellink is currently under fire from MPs after a report into the bankruptcy of DSB bank criticised the central bank for not doing its job properly.
