Fast track degrees for slow students under investigation

Education ministry inspectors are to look at claims some slow students are being offered fast-track ways to finish their degrees, even though they have not completed their course work, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.

Over the past few weeks a number of cases have come to light in which colleges have allegedly helped students to a degree which they were not entitled to.
An independent investigation has already been launched into practices at the media and entertainment management faculty at the InHolland college group. Similar claims have been made about Groningen hbo college.
Universities and hbo colleges lose out on funding if students drop out before completing their degree.
