Laura Dekker, the 14-year-old girl who wants to become the youngest person to sail solo round the world, will remain under court supervision for another month at least.

The order had been due to expire on July 1. But a magistrate in Middelsburg ruled on Thursday that Dekker must wait at least another month before starting her two-year trip.
During that time, she will undergo another check on her social and emotional development, and her sailing plans will be assessed for safety, the magistrate said.
