American rapper Snoop Dog banned from Parkpop festival

American rapper Snoop Dogg has been banned from appearing at the Parkpop festival in The Hague on June 27.

An alliance of mayor, police and justice ministry officials have decided to ban the rapper in order to preserve the ‘open and friendly character’ of the festival.
House music is also banned from Parkpop because it does ‘not match the atmosphere’ of the free family festival.
The festival’s organisers cannot yet say who will replace Dogg, who has a sold-out show at Amsterdam’s Melkweg concert hall on June 28.
Alphabeat, Nena, Nick Lowe and Juliette Lewis are among the acts appearing at Parkpop, which claims to be the largest free festival in Europe.
