VVD leaps ahead in latest De Hond poll

The right-wing Liberals (VVD) have leapt into the lead in the latest Maurice de Hond opinion poll with 37 seats, a gain of three on a week ago.

Labour loses one seat in the poll and is now on 31. And, for the first time, VVD leader Mark Rutte has overtaken Labour leader Job Cohen as prime minister of choice.
The Christian Democrats, who currently hold 41 out of 150 seats in parliament, would take just 24.
De Hond’s poll puts Geert Wilders’ PVV unchanged in fourth place on 16 seats, up seven from its current total but well down on its support earlier in the year.
