Shareholders lobby takes legal action against Super de Boer

The VEB shareholders lobby group is taking legal action against supermarket company Super de Boer for failing to publish price sensitive information on time.

The case relates to rival supermarket group Jumbo’s takeover bid in September 2009.
Super de Boer’s share price rose a total 25% over several days before the bid was made public, and trading volumes were unusually high, the VEB says.
The organisation says Super de Boer should have made Jumbo’s interest public as soon as it knew an offer was coming to ensure a level playing field for all shareholders. Super de Boer was aware of the offer on September 4, the VEB says.
