Remembrance Day panic caused by ‘known tramp’

A tramp well-known in the centre of Amsterdam caused the panic which disrupted Tuesday evening’s Remembrance Day commemorations, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

The man is known as Adam and has made the Spui street which runs from the Dam his home for the past 18 months, the paper says, quoting local bar staff.
The man, dressed in a long black coat, caused a stampede when he began shouting during the two minutes silence. He will appear in court on Friday charged with disturbing the peace and causing physical injury.
