Staffing agency Randstad sees broad recovery

Temporary employment agency Randstad said on Wednesday it saw signs of a broad economic recovery in all of its markets.

Randstad, the second biggest staffing agency in the world after Switzerland’s Adecco, booked a 4% increase in organic turnover in March, compared with a 5% decline in January.
‘In a quarter that is historically the weakest of the year, we achieved a solid performance, thanks to cost control and careful attention to margins,’ said CEO Ben Noteboom in a statement.
‘In March, revenue recovered strongly, with the industrial segments leading the change. Our US and German businesses are well over last year’s levels, while the Netherlands is still lagging. In the US, our professionals business has also returned to growth in March,’ Noteboom said.
