Four-party coalition for Rotterdam city council

Rotterdam’s new coalition government will be a combination of four parties: Labour (PvdA), the Christian Democrats (CDA) and two Liberal parties VVD and D66.

Agreement on the coalition was reached late on Wednesday night after the four parties agreed their spending plans for the next four years. Details have yet to be made public.
The four parties hold 25 of the 45 seats on the city council. Labour has 14, the VVD and D66 4 and the CDA 3.
The local populist party Leefbaar Rotterdam also won 14 seats in the March local election, but took fewer votes, giving the PvdA the upper hand in forming the coalition.
