Start and final stage wins for Dutch cyclists

Dutch road cyclists booked two stage wins in international road cycling events at the weekend.

Lars Boom took an early lead in the Paris-Nice stage race after winning the eight-kilometre time-trial prologue with a time of 10.56.
The 24-year-old, who rides for the Rabobank team, will wear the yellow jersey and king of the mountains polka dot jersey at the start of the Race to the Sun, as the event is known.
‘I gave everything I had knowing this was a course for me, with a little climb at the start and a fast hard, flat course afterwards,’ the former world cyclo cross champion said.
Spain
Theo Bos, who rides for the Cervélo team, won final stage of the five-day Vuelta a Murcia race in Spain.
‘Today I had my best legs of the week,’ Bos was quoted as saying by website Roadcycling.com ‘The first stage I messed up a little bit because I was too far back in the peloton in an important moment in the race so I wanted to make something good today, and I did.’
The event was won by Czech rider Frantisek Rabon.
