Exports get off to good start in January
Monday 15 March 2010
Dutch industrial exports rose 11% in January 2010, compared with a year ago, the national statistics office CBS said on Monday.
Exports in January 2009 were roughly the same as in 2008, before the economic crisis broke out, the CBS said.
Imports were also up 10% in January, taking the trade surplus to €2bn, down €600m on a year ago.

If the exports (which are higher than the imports) grow by 11%, and the imports grow by only 10% (over a smaller volume than the exports) how can the trade surplus be down by 600m????
(its 3rd grade math...)
