Boskalis declares Smit bid unconditional

Dredging group Boskalis Westminster has declared its takeover of maritime services group Smit International unconditional after being tendered almost 60% of the shares outstanding.

Added to the shares it already owned, Boskalis now has 89.57% of Smit, the company said in a statement.
Boskalis made the €60 a share offer for Smit in November. The takeover had the backing of a group of Smit shareholders who control 44% of the company.
