Urk teen murder victim was stabbed
Tuesday 23 February 2010
The 14-year boy murdered in woods close to the staunchly Protestant fishing village of Urk last year was stabbed to death, the public prosecution department said on Tuesday.
A 15-year-old boy is to face murder charges in connection with the death and will appear before magistrates on June 1. Two younger boys will also face charges relating to the murder.
It has not yet been decided whether the hearing will be conducted behind closed doors as is usual in the case of minors.
The two younger boys claim they left the wood when they saw main suspect Jaap H. pull a knife. The next day Post’s body was discovered by passers by. The prosecution department is looking into whether the younger boys, aged 12 and 14, could have prevented the murder.
