Little growth for supermarket A brands

The sale of supermarket A brands grew just 2.2% last year, according to research quoted by food industry website Distrifood.


And once the growth in tobacco revenue is stripped out, branded food good sales rose just 0.8%, the research shows.
By contrast supermarket own label products, such as Euroshopper, booked a 7% increase in sales.
Top of the list of branded goods is dairy company Campina, followed by Marlboro tobacco products and Douwe Egberts coffee.
