ABN Amro to target corporate accounts
Tuesday 09 February 2010
Nationalised bank ABN Amro is to target major corporate accounts, at just under the level of multinationals such as Unilever and Shell, Rutger van Nouhuys, head of the bank's large corporate and merchant banking arm, says in Tuesday's Financieele Dagblad.
Van Nouhuys told the paper he planned to build his division into the market leader within three years.
Finance minister Wouter Bos wants to sell ABN Amro or float it on the stock exchange within a few years and a strong business banking sector is an important source of revenue, the paper says.
